MTN Group is seeking local investors to acquire a 30% stake in IHS Nigeria under an agreement with the country’s antitrust authorities.
MTN South Africa CEO Ferdi Moolman said the move would help boost local earnings.
All Weather Capital equity analyst Jared Hoover said the MTN Group’s valuation multiple is still too cheap.
And ‘we have now introduced an enhanced shareholder return over the medium term’ – CFO Tsholofelo Molefe.
The deal values the entire tower assets company at about $6.2 billion (R99.4bn), including debt.
